This was definitely the MOST enjoyable Laruku concert I have
ever been to!!! It should be beyond words could describe, but I'll try.
Different from other times, this time was not only about their performance,
but the interaction of the fans made the show so good!! Everybody was very high
and jumped to every song! In Japan, fans generally behave more calm, I guess
that’s because they always get to see the band in LIVE concert, but in
Hong Kong, it is a first for many people and that’s why we’re all
the more excited! Also, in the beginning, I didn’t quite get the set list..why
these songs…? It doesn’t seem to have any particular coherence to
it… but I understood after the concert. Most songs were able to take the
fans through some interactions like jumping, clapping, singing together, waving,
etc. It made the concert so fun because it was like a HUGE party!!! I hope our
high energy had shown the band how much they are loved throughout not only Asia
but the world!!

Arrival:
I didn’t go to the airport was it was a Friday, had to go to work as usual
T_T but I read on the news about it. Over a hundred fans showed up at the pick
up and thanks to the design of HK airport there was a panic and chaos as always.
Fortunately the members were safe and happy ^^ Most media covered on a story
about a Mom chasing after the band pushing a cart with a baby in it. In fact,
ended up, the mom here is actually trying to give a fan back her cell phone
which she has dropped, so she has nothing to do with this incident ^^; But I
dunno, maybe if I was a mom I'd wanna bring my kid to meet the band too.
Press Conference:
Asking the members about their experience so far before coming to Hong Kong, Paris had surely made an impression on them! Hyde said it was funny how the French fans can read his band name “L’Arc~en~Ciel” better than he could himself. (laughs) Yukkie was worried whether the fans in Paris would like them but now he is assured that he need not worry because the fans had shown them how much they were adored! Ken mentioned that since it is broadcasted LIVE in Japan, he wanted to put on a cool act, but unfortunately he was was injured by the air shooting machine. Then he asked if they were gonna use that in Hong Kong as well!? ^^; As for tetchan, he said he could hear all the fan’s screaming outside Zenith when he was in the backstage! He thank them for being so passionate and supportive, it was too bad he had a fever in Paris and didn’t get to put on a top performance for the fans. Since the members hadn’t known a word of Cantonese, our leader Tetchan gave it a try and greeted the media with “Dai Ka Ho “ (Hello Everybody)
The Show:
I arrived at the venue at 3 PM and there were about 2,000 people
lining up already for the goods! I am not even exaggerating!
The organizer of this show, BMA, has set up (or can I even call this a set up!?)
a sad poor little sales area with paper boxes and …paper boxes!!! Not
even having any sort of poster or sign there like all the shows in other countries.
Lined up for like 4 hrs and to find that the Pamphlet was SOLD OUT midway. So I only managed to get a tee -_-; So it was already 7 PM and about time to go in… I was so so so excited that I actually didn’t want the show to start yet!! Hehe coz I know once it starts its gonna end in a flash coz it always does >_<!! Good times fly by!
I found my seat at block A row R tetsu’s side, its not exactly front row but the view was not bad! This was the first time that I get to see Laruku with friends I’ve known for 10 years, we all started liking them together and now here we are all together seeing them finally in Hong Kong! I was very kandou *_* I had about like 30 friends and acquaintances in the hall it was quite phenomenal! Never been to any show with so many people going ^^ The hall filled up quickly around 8 the house was considered full.
Also, Luna Sea's Inoran was at the show. I didn't get to see him unfortunately but he supposedly seated at Blk A Row E or so.

Lights Off and everyone was screeeeaming on the top of their lungs!! The screen showed the usual introduction clip, with member’s names and the band’s names..welcome phrases in various languages.
Get out from the
shell
As you can see from the clip above…the lights then lit up behind the curtain
in front of us and showed the back shadow of 3 members, Tetchan, Hyde, Ken.
Hyde opened his voice to “get out from the shell”. His voice was
so perfect and it echoed throughout the roaring of fans in the hall. I’ve
never seen someone’s “Back Shadow” that was so attractive
and sexxxyyyy like hyde’s!!! just from the shadow makes my heart beat
fast XD We all clapped to the song and since it was the first song we jumped
and jumped like no tomorrow!!
Driver’s High
2nd song in is already this super high energy one. As usual we all enjoyed jumping
to the “CRASH” cue ^_^
Killing Me
On one newspaper they quoted that laruku performed the song "Killing You".

pretty funny, usually found in Congee or ate with Sugar and Ginger.

DAYBREAK'S BELL
I particularly looked forward to this song because I saw Gundam 00 and listened
to this song for so long coz of the OP ^^; The fans loved this song too I guess
many people had also seen the animation.
winter fall
The stage was shed with light that looked like snow flakes and everybody wowed
to this song because it’s one of the “classics” ^_^ I waited
to sing to “Pieces of you pieces of you lie in me inches deep” with
my friends XD
Kasou
This song started with a piano version of the tune. With Yukkie left on the
stage.
Also one of fan’s favorite from the “classic” times good old
days hehee. I loved singing the “Na-hah” part along with hyde sama
everytime >:D
Eien
Instead of My Dear, we had the B-set list which was “Eien”. I would’ve
preferred My Dear myself. Hyde’s voice seemed a little coarse on this
song I was quite worried about him because he still got a long way to sing till
the end!!!
forbidden lover
my personal favorite within Kasou, Honey. I love the lyrics “rekishi no
nami ni, nomare~~” such beautiful lyrics!!!
MY HEART DRAWS A DREAM
Ken started this song with the 6 note tunes a couple times then the drums kicked
in. Love this introduction!!! Hehe ken’s guitar makes me anticipate it
so much. This song was very touching as all the fans sang together “Yume
wo egaku yo” until the very end. Then the hall was quiet for hyde to sing
the last phrase in his crisp beautiful voice!! Goosebumps!
Caress of Venus
Haha before the concert, I was complaining why they had always performed this
song in every single concert!?! Seems like its hyde-sama’s favorite! (but
not mine I’d prefer Flower or even Natsu no Yuutsu) but anyway this song
is great fun to jump to ^_^ Hyde sama asked us to “ Tiu Ah” (Jump
in Cantonese) throughout the song. At first I thought he was swearing..haha.
coz its verrrry close to a swear word in Chinese XD
REVELATION
Like I said, almost every song was those jumping yelling song! Hehe. This is
the 3rd time I’ve heard REVELATION LIVE I think. Everybody jumped to the
“aimai na risou” part ^^

- Thanks for waiting for us for so long! (They kept apologizing for having us
wait.. ^^;)
- Yesterday I didn’t eat the in-flight meal. I was very hungry, so I had
a sandwich in the hotel.
- Then we went to the press conference.
- Afterwards we went to dinner. The chicken looked very delicious, but …the
chicken was staring at me! (chicken head)
- Then the fish also looked very delicious, but the Fish was also staring at
me. (steamed fish with the head still on)
Then Ken was trying to read the words on his "cheat sheet" and he
got pissed off coz he couldn't make out the words and he chucked the paper on
the ground! so funny!!! XD
The restaurant that ken had the chicken / fish was at the same
place that hyde went to last time he came to Hong Kong to promote Roentgen many
years ago. Maybe Hyde sama had wanted to go back!?
SEVENTH HEAVEN
My friends and I were waiting to do the “ Minute 31” hand sign with
hyde hehe. Not many people did it, but a couple of ppl around my area did. And
we could see from the screen that Hyde put a smile on his face when he saw us
doing that! Perhaps he had not expected us to be doing that together~~
Pretty girl
I had a black tank top underneath my Hydeist tee. I purposely had prepared my
skinny ribbed tank for THIS SONG XP I was like half soaked by this time of the
concert and was high to the very maximum. So I took off my Hydeist tee as hyde
asked us to “Shake our booty” XDDDDD

I don't quite make out what tetchan was saying but I think
he was asking us in Cantonese whether we'd want his bananas XD Then he started
the Mukimpo tradition and threw out a few to the crowd.
STAY AWAY -member change version-
Although this wasn’t a “P’UNK” performance but of course
our dear leader sama Tetchan started off the “sequence” ^_^ Then
Ken picked up afterwards, hahaha he’s so adorable and funny as usual.
Then it was Yukkie’s turn and everybody was chearing crazily as he walked
out from behind his drumset.
READY STEADY GO
ARE YOU F*CKIN READY!?? Always ready when you are hyde sama!!! Every time he
yelled out everybody screamed to it!! Hehe he’s always so powerful at
these things. This song is another favorite for HK fans as this was the Hagaren
theme song.
<ENCORE> During
Encore everybody stomped their feet to make noise and clapped and yelled
" ANKORU" to ask the band to come out again for the Encore.
Meanwhile, we were like... lets do the WAVE! Behind us was a row of girls
too and we didn't know them..but i had about 10 friends in my row, and
we were like..OK, 1,2,3 and we raised our hands and jumped with the 2
rows behind us. The people in block B saw us and followed and also the
fans on the balcony. Then before we know, the wave totally got going allllll
the way to the very end!!!! It was so amazing! It was the first time I'd
ever be able to start a wave, never had thought that we could do it!!
(If you were there, I hope you enjoyed it XD ) then we did it again and
again and at some point, the wave CAME BACK to us. We got so loud that
the staff came out from behind the stage to see what's going on with us!!

Since we’re running on the “B” set list. We had Jojoshi instead
of NEO UNIVERSE. I personally preferred this over Neo ^^; This song was so lovely
and we all held hands in our row and waved to the melody. I looked behind me
everybody did the same!! Basically the entire arena was waving right and left
to it. Kandou T__T
HONEY
Hyde picked up his guitar and I yelled out “ HONEY!” hehehehe. Wonder
if he had heard me~?

Although we do not get to do the “Hong Kong Clap” to Dive to Blue,
at least we get to do the similar clap here at Link ^_^ Then hyde suddenly JUMPED
into the crowd….!!!! So jealousss the fans in the front row middle could
touch him!! It was so scary though coz he almost lost balance and really “Dive”
into the crowd!!! It was then when all the people rushed to the very front !!
(incl myself) so we watched from the very front in the “corridor”
until he finished Link and said “ the next is the last song… Anata”
ANATA
We stuck around in the front since it’s the last song. Fortunately the
security dude was nice and let me and a few fans go to the 1st row middle!!
(shhhh…:P) we were able to see from the very very front (row Zero basically
!!) and I could see hyde’s face sooooo close up like I have never had
before. We sang together to Anata, and I watched the feathers come down from
the sky. The camera was right in front of us and shooting us.. my face must
have been @)(*^!(&@*!^@! But I still put on a smile and did a V sign to
the camera XD
The next day I notice that I did ended up in the newspaper as those "front
row ppl"!!
(altho i have never posted a picture of myself here with my face seen, this
time i guess i'll post it..since my dream came true to be one of those front
row kids in the Document photobooks!! besides my hand covered 1/2 of my face
:P )

After Party
“Uchiage” Not long after another
van pulled over and this time tetchan came out. He was in a bright green
hoodie and a grey bag (Prada?) and his hair was washed and straight already.
On the 25th, Sunday,
they departed from HK. I was too tired I didn’t go to the airport.
But I heard that tetchan is still in HK and did not leave with the other
3 members. Just like in Paris, I guess tetchan likes to stay behind for
a little bit of shopping >_< and…..rumor has it that Ayana
chan was with him here in HK (and actually the entire tour)....newlyweds.... |
Atogaki:
This concert made me come to a realization. I was very grateful to be able to be a part of L'Arc's history that day with my very good friends, whom I've known for 10 years since we all began liking the band. I was 16, and now I am 26, we were students, and now we all have a job to go to, have a boss to please, have a living to make. But being able to see L'Arc together, made me find my "seishun" again, it made me realize my dreams and hopes again...after being exhausted from the rough real world out there. Because our love for L'Arc is pure and innocent, unlike many things around us nowadays. Therefore, it was the fact that I could share this memorable time with L'Arc AND my friends that made it so special, and I have no regrets as a L'Arc fan after this concert. Being able to do this was more than being able to meet the band in private or whatever, and this experience was definately priceless and I will remember 24th May 2008 forever in my heart.
